Ellen Winter: YIKES Album Release Show — live event

Ellen Winter: YIKES Album Release Show

YIKES is the sophomore album of singer-songwriter, musical theater composer, and queer-joy menace, Ellen Winter. Their music fuses theatrical storytelling with dreamy synths and vocal stacks (think Maggie Rogers meets Robyn meets Fiona Apple), showcased on their 2020 glitter-fueled debut album, Every Feeling I’ve Ever Felt which featured the hit viral single, "Mantras". Ellen co-wrote, composed and directed 36 Questions, the world’s first broadway-calibur musical podcast starring Jonathan Groff (Hamilton) and Jessie Shelton (Hadestown). TBH, Ellen had all sorts of ideas for what her second record was gonna be and then - she got dumped. Holed up in her new studio apartment with her anxious dog and a version of Logic Pro still registered to her ex, she oscillated between watching hours of “Adventure Time” in a stoned paralysis and furiously writing, producing, and recording the ten tracks that make up her new album. YIKES expands Ellen's range with new arrangements that explore cabaret to bedroom pop and everything in between. This performance will feature all the tunes from the new album (and maybe some sneaky ones from album 1) as well as some stellar guest performances. YIKES was made possible by SPACE on Ryder Farm's Bryan Gallace Posthumous Productions Musician Fellowship.
