Carl Stone 70th Birthday Lollapalooza — live event
Sampling pioneer Carl Stone presents two evenings of his music, featuring solos and collaborations within a program consisting of largely new works written especially for the performers. The anticipated number of world premieres is three. During this Friday, December 8th event audiences will hear new solo works, ACID KARAOKE (featuring MIN Xiao-Fen) and the NYC debut of Senile Felines featuring Stone, Ned Rothenberg (winds) and Soo Yeon Lyuh (Haegeum). On Night 2, Saturday, December 9th, Stone will present the debut of a new project featuring Todd Reynold (violin) and Matt Sargent (steel guitar) plus an improvised ensemble piece with Stone, Elliott Sharp, Min Xiao-Fen, and Booker Stardrum. Both nights will also include a Carl Stone solo performance. Both nights also act as album release events for his new album ‘Electronic Music from 1972-2022’ on Unseen Worlds.
