Solidaire will present a program featuring a new work by visionary composer Paola Prestini. The evening will also include new arrangements of Opening by Philip Glass and Vox Balaenae by George Crumb. Solidaire is the first of its kind: the first ever ensemble for flute, cello and percussion. Three trailblazers in their respective fields, Jennifer Grim, Svet Stoyanov and Jeffrey Zeigler have pursued very unique career paths leading the way in the expansion of the boundaries of classical music. It was fate that their roads have fortuitously brought all three of them to Miami where they are professors at Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. Founded on the idea of innovation and the exploration of a vast sonic palette, the careers of Jennifer Grim, Svet Stoyanov and Jeffrey Zeigler have followed unique and distinct paths as soloists and as members of Zéphyros Winds, the Percussion Collective and the Kronos Quartet. Solidaire’s debut season includes concerts in Miami, Napa, CA and National Sawdust in Brooklyn, NY.
