Come join Burley to celebrate the release of their self-titled debut EP. Two years in the making, this first project marks the opening step into the Burley universe, one that moves at the steady pace of the gait of a walk. What began as an inward-facing experiment making music free from the weight of expectation, without the gaze of the listener or the pressure of what it should become, has unfolded into a sound that is soft, unguarded, and quietly resolute. These songs don’t press to fill the room, but instead create a space where stillness can speak and small moments are allowed their full weight. In their first step, Burley offers not an arrival, but an invitation, one that asks only for your unhurried attention, the way a path asks only to be walked. Joined by Harrison Highway; the spray-painted vessel for the songs of Matthew Harrison. No bells and whistles and no shortage of lyrical oomph. Based out of Maspeth Queens, the rock band plays bars, pig roasts and motorcycle funerals.
