Join us for Eyeworks Experimental Animation Series 2026! This year's LA festival features three programs, starting with a screening of films from the Whispering Pines series by Shana Moulton at 2pm. At 5:30pm and 8pm, we follow with two different shorts programs of experimental animation. Each of the three individual programs are unique and feature different works. The Eyeworks Experimental Animation Screening Series is an annual festival focusing on experimental animation, with screening events in Chicago, LA, and NY each fall. Eyeworks spotlights works made by individual artists, drawing on the tradition of classic cartoon animation and the lineages of avant-garde and underground cinema. The aim of Eyeworks, now in its 15th year, is to present works that celebrate animation as an experimental art form. Past guests with retrospective screenings are David OReilly, Lori Damiano, Nancy Andrews, Caleb Wood, Takeshi Murata, Martin Arnold, Jacolby Satterwhite, Naoyuki Tsuji, Janie Geiser, Laura Harrison, Barry Doupé, Al Jarnow, Yoriko Mizushiri, and James J.A. Mercer. Eyeworks is curated by Lilli Carré and Alexander Stewart, and is presented by Pioneer Works. Eyeworks 2026 artwork by Michael Jenson.
