Dinowalrus / Nihiloceros / Ilithios — live event

Dinowalrus: Dinowalrus has been part of the Brooklyn DIY music scene for over a decade, trafficking in various permutations of futuristic psychedelic postpunk, embodying an uncanny persistence and curiosity. Their body of work runs the gamut from sleek dreampop to arty, noise-laden garage punk and shoegaze. Founding bandleader Pete Feigenbaum, who was also briefly a guitarist for Titus Andronicus, founded the band in 2008. The band has released four albums on labels including Kanine (Chairlift, Surfer Blood, Grizzly Bear), Old Flame (Cloud Nothings), Heist or Hit UK, and Moorworks Japan (Of Montreal, Beach Slang, Xiu Xiu), receiving positive reviews in Pitchfork, Stereogum, NME, the Village Voice and Uncut. They have opened for a diverse array of similar-minded bands including The Charlatans, Gang of Youths, The Telescopes, Japandroids, Surfer Blood, The Ocean Blue, Sunflower Bean, A Place to Bury Strangers and Parquet Courts. Nihiloceros: Mike Borchardt (guitar/vocals) and Alex Hoffman (bass/vocals) crossed paths over a decade ago playing in different bands in Chicago and Alaska. After they both ended up in Brooklyn, NY, the pair struck up a collaborative creative friendship. After the recent departure of their dear friend and longtime drummer, newest member and NYC punk stalwart, Glenn Gentzke, now rounds out the trio bringing with him a fresh dynamism behind the kit. With a shared penchant for loud guitars, cool rhythms, and sad pop melodies, they now write music together about the imminent evolutionary unraveling of the human condition and the absurdity of the end of the world. They also play a lot of shows. Ilithios: ILITHIOS (tr. idiot – in greek) is an indie pop / psych pop band based in Brooklyn NY. Led by Manny Nomikos, the band is known for their hypnotizing performances, melancholic dance anthems, and multiple vocalists. Bandmates Ana Becker (vocals, guitar), Justin Gonzalez (guitar), Don Lavis (drums), and Julie Rozansky (vocals, bass) each bring unique gifts to the band, to make each show a unique experience.
