Tambor y Caña is a traditional Afro-Venezuelan Music project with an experimental approach founded in May 2017 in Brooklyn, NY, by Willie Quintana with Daniel Prim, Jeickov Vital, Juan Diego Villalobos, and Kevin Costante. Since 2017 the project has grown thanks to the participation of other Venezuelan artists and musicians like Rafael Urbina, Roberto Verde, Fernando Colombet, Luis D'Elias, Heyleen Williams, Ana Maria Ayala, Marcos Espinoza, Lucas Bahamonde, Carlos Diaz, Angelika Taborda, Cesar Quiroz Jhon Canvas, Victor Medrano, among others. Tambor y Caña promotes and disseminates dance, songs, and the performance of drums and other instruments used in traditional Afro-Venezuelan music, mainly around the manifestation of San Juan Bautista.
