Ruthie Foster — live event on Oct 2, 2026
Ruthie Foster live at Jimmy's Jazz and Blues Club, Portsmouth on Fri, Oct 2, 7:30 PM. Free entry. Lineup, start time and tickets on Ckord.
Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Ruthie Foster has spent more than three decades crafting a powerful blend of blues, soul, folk, and gospel. After earning her first Grammy in 2024 for Best Contemporary Blues Album with Mileage, Foster returns with Just Say Yes (Sun Records), a deeply personal collection inspired by resilience, renewal, and embracing life's next chapter. Produced alongside Tyler Bryant and Rebecca Lovell of Larkin Poe, the album reflects Foster's remarkable journey from her service in the U.S. Navy and an early major-label deal to stepping away from music to care for her mother before rebuilding her career as an independent artist. Foster's soulful voice and heartfelt songwriting have earned widespread critical acclaim, making her one of the most respected voices in contemporary roots music. Just Say Yes is another inspiring chapter from an artist whose music continues to resonate with honesty, warmth, and unwavering spirit.
