Somewhere between The Late Show w/Colbert, Leonard Bernstein’s Harvard Music lectures and David Byrne’s American Utopia, Michael Thurber & Friends is a musical variety show that features artists from different cultural/musical backgrounds. Hosted and curated by Thurber, a bassist and songwriter, the show flows seamlessly from guest to guest, hopping through centuries of musical styles - Hiphop to Baroque, Carnatic to Spoken Word, Bluegrass to Jazz and everything in between.
