Orchestra for the Earth - Haydn and Haas — live event on Aug 8, 2026

Orchestra for the Earth - Haydn and Haas at Bold Tendencies on Sat, Aug 8, 7:30 PM. Tickets from $20. Lineup, start time and tickets on Ckord.
We are delighted to be working with **John Warner**, Founder & Artistic Director of **Orchestra for the Earth**, on realising this special project. This will be the first time we welcome this distinguished Orchestra and its outstanding musicianship to our summer programme in a double bill capturing our euphoria theme at its most visceral. *in vain* (2000) immerses us in pulsating music as the lighting shifts between overwhelming brightness to complete darkness while the *Farewell Symphony* (1772) is a masterpiece of musical drama: performed with candlelight on each music stand; as musicians leave and extinguish their light, the stage grows darker, ending with just two violins in relative darkness. Together they create an unforgettable act of deep listening, resonating with both political and climate crises, perfectly suited to the Concrete Concert Hall. This will be a rare opportunity to experience Haas' landmark work live in London, described by Sir Simon Rattle as “the first masterpiece of the 21st century” in a context that highlights both its structural radicalism and its enduring political resonance.
