Hayden Pedigo—guitarist, absurdist, and former Amarillo City Council candidate—returns with I’ll Be Waving as You Drive Away, the latest in a trilogy following Letting Go (2021) and The Happiest Times I Ever Ignored (2023). Blending intricate fingerpicking with warped Americana, the album pushes instrumental guitar into new territory, drawing from influences like John Fahey, King Crimson, and beyond. Written after years of touring and shaped by isolation, it’s his most personal and technically ambitious work yet—closing out a body of songs rooted in identity, place, and departure.
