Lamplight AVL & APLR Presents: **Arulu & Will Franke Concert + House of Arulu Mask Exhibit** Friday, October 2nd, 2026 AyurPrana Listening Room - 312 Haywood Rd, Asheville, NC 28806 Doors 5PM || Show 6 PM The East-West Asheville Art Walk returns on Friday, October 2nd, from 5 to 8 p.m. This free community event brings art, music, performance, and creative exchange into neighborhood businesses, inviting the public to stroll between locations and experience the district’s vibrant artistic community. Organized by Lamplight AVL, the Art Walk is an ongoing seasonal initiative that connects local artists, businesses, and community members through a shared evening of arts-centered programming. Participating businesses throughout East-West Asheville will host exhibitions, installations, performances, open studios, and interactive experiences, creating opportunities for visitors to engage with the creative energy of the neighborhood. **Arulu & Will Franke:** Arulu & Will Franke are back at Ayurprana! You may remember their gut-wrenching performance sung in 10 different languages from last winter, where their set became an altar to the heart of music that unites us across the world. This time they're back with a repertoire drawn heavily from Appalachian folk, Balkan, Celtic, & Spanish traditions. Arulu's ethereal voice cuts straight through the everyday noise & twines with Will's equally intricate instrumentals, creating a timeless space through song. The duo honors the depth of each tradition through precise ornamentation & melodic clarity while blending them with a contemporary sensibility, offering a performance that is emotionally vivid & deeply engaging. Arulu is an interdisciplinary visual artist who specializes in sculpture & maskmaking. Inspired by mask traditions across the world, Arulu crafts intensely powerful masks whose spiritual presences are just as palpable as their physical form. As part of this immersive art-walk experience, she will be creating an installation of her masks in the Listening Room that will be on view during the musical performance.
