Formed in 1977, Purple Hearts were one of the main bands from the 'Mod Revival' era along with The Jam, Secret Affair, The Lambrettas, & The Chords. Their debut single 'Millions Like You' hit the UK charts and was swiftly followed up with 'Frustration'. 1980 saw Purple Hearts released their debut album 'Beat That!' along with a single from the LP 'Jimmy', which also reached the UK charts. Two more singles 'My Life's A Jigsaw' and 'Plane Crash' came out before the band split in 1982.
