Zoe Guigueno (GIG-an-oh) is a bassist & songwriter headquartered in New York City. Her music has been described as having a “jagged, poetic design” (The Wild Is Calling) and a “kaleidoscopic sonic formula” (Mesmerized). Eureka Shoes is a new songwriting power group of Charlie Burnham, Jean Rohe, and Skye Soto Steele, longtime friends and collaborators who have each achieved notoriety in their respective worlds of jazz, folk, and pop music, and now join forces, along with bassist Rashaan Carter, to bring you an entirely new sound. Expect delicious three-part harmonies, other-worldly twin fiddling, and lyrics that will break your heart and put it back together again better. Tonight we celebrate the release of their debut album, Beautalina, on Adhyaropa records. Combining intimate improvisation with cinematic melodies and rock-and-roll verve, Drinking Bird is a Brooklyn trio that draws from a liberally defined American Songbook to build a sound of its own. Comprising New Yorker Eladio Rojas on the drums, Norway-bred guitarist Jacob Drab, and Pacific Northwest native Tree Palmedo on trumpet, the members of Drinking Bird have spent the past decade performing with Broadway shows, acclaimed indie bands, and a host of jazz greats. The trio takes a nothing-off-limits approach to its own music, with forays into drum-and-bass, melodic synthpop, avant-garde noise, and Elliott Smith covers.
