Grant Chapman is an experimental percussionist and producer based out of New York City who crafts sample-based dark ambient soundscapes in real time with an electronic drum kit. Wird Grau is the moniker of musician/painter Laszlo Horvath. Following the release of the mechanically orchestrated Pelts, released under the name L. Horvath, Horvath has delved into new territory as Wird Grau, developing a sound that is rich in distortion and mercurial in character. In his new live sets, Horvath’s songwriting is interpolated by his unflinching performance, portraying the singer against the backdrop of a flattened city. Like a blurry photograph, Wird Grau seeks an ebullient dizziness in the audience through the development of constantly evolving songsmithing.
