Saturday, May 31, 2025 Savak + The Gotobeds + Skull Practitioner 10pm - $15 - All Ages SAVAK Brooklyn, NY https://savak.bandcamp.com/ Hopped up on a steady diet of everything, SAVAK is a Brooklyn-based post-punk band formed in 2015 by Sohrab Habibion (Obits, Edsel) and Michael Jaworski (The Cops) who play guitars, make noise and take Turns singing songs. Drummer Matt Schulz (Holy Fuck, Enon) has been the other constant member over the course of 7 LPs, a remix album, an EP, and multiple 7” singles. The band performs live with bassist Matt Hunter (Silver Jews, New Radiant Storm King). SAVAK’s 7th full-length LP, ’SQUAWK!,’ is out on May 30th, 2025 as a split release via Ernest Jenning Recording Co. and their own label, Peculiar Works Music. The album was mixed by Travis Harrison (Guided By Voices, The Men). THE GOTOBEDS Pittsburgh, PA https://thegotobeds.bandcamp.com/ The Gotobeds formed vaguely around 2009 and play a mutant strain of rock music that is often filed under punk, indie rock, or 99-cent discount bin. A raw, energetic Pittsburgh indie/post-punk quartet in the vein of Pavement, the Fall, and Wire, but with a garagey aftertaste. SKULL PRACTITIONERS New York, New York https://skull-practitioners.bandcamp.com Three-piece featuring Jason Victor (current lead guitarist in the Dream Syndicate), Kenneth Levine and Alex Baker. This band’s brand of heavy psych post punk skronk is some of the coolest sounds we’ve heard in eons and we are excited to be working with them! Jason’s guitar shredding is positively brain splattering and Kenneth’s huge bass throb and Alex’s propulsive drumming make these guys sound bigger and heavier than most five piece bands.
