Big Spirit formed in New York City in 2016 as the songwriting vehicle for singer Sed Pepper, guitarist Simon Khoury and drummer Amy Franz (ex-Super Wild Horses). In 2018 the band released their debut album Get This!, a blistering 10 song jaunt of sharply executed rock songs, recorded in 3 days in Brooklyn. The band followed up in 2020 with their evocative sophomore Jungle of Love, with Daniel Bombach (Your 33 Black Angels) on bass and Hitomi Nakamura (Hard Nips) moving to drums. Their highly anticipated new LP, Zig Zag is slated for release on September 23, 2024. Big Spirit make toughpop; up front, heartfelt and captivating. The coolest band you’ve never heard of.
