pehrspace and the Poetic Research Bureau present Dao Strom with She Who Has No Master(s), Patrick Shiroishi, and Isabel Yi Jimenez. **Dao Strom** is a Portland, OR-based interdisciplinary artist who works with three “voices”—written, sung, visual—to explore hybridity and the intersection of personal and collective histories. Her music releases move between “song-poem” cycles and ambient-folk albums. She is the author/composer of several hybrid projects that blend poetry, music, and visual art into unique multimodal experiences, including Tender Revolutions/Yellow Songs, a song-cycle with set of four chapbooks, jointly released by Beacon Sound, Antiquated Future Records, and The 3rd Thing Press (2025), and Instrument/Traveler’s Ode, a poetry-art collection + song-cycle released by Fonograf Editions and Antiquated Future Records (2020). Born in Vietnam, Strom began her musical journey in an acoustic folk/roots vein but has since moved in more experimental directions, resisting easy categorization, drawing in ethereal and ambient textures, yet still maintaining tendrils of folk ethos. For this performance Dao will present from her latest project joined by collaborators from She Who Has No Master(s), a poetry-art collective of which Dao is a co-founder. Together, Dao and SWHNM will present a unique blend of “multi-voice” poetry, music, and visuals evoking associations of yellow and nuances—echoes—of Vietnamese diasporic memory and postmemory. **She Who Has No Master(s)** is a collective of Vietnamese women writers and artists making polyvocal poetry-art works as a means of reaching across borders. Lily Hoang and Anh-Hoa Thi Nguyen from SWHNM will join Dao Strom for this performance. **Patrick Shiroishi** is a Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist, composer & poet based in Los Angeles. **Isabel Yi Jimenez** (they/them) is an artist, writer, and curator whose work examines the materiality of place and the manifestations of diasporic life as it adapts to structures of colonial violence. They are the artist projects manager on the curatorial team at Clockshop, where they produce programming and commission contemporary artist projects on public land, and the poetry editor at Broken Lens Journal.
