RAUSCHEN SMILE is a post-punk band with a frontwoman who prefers not to sing. She instead intones her poetic stories spiked with personal reflections. Taking notes from a UK-indebted post-punk sound, the band bet their cards on homogeneous straightforwardness, adhering to gloomy seriousness while making space for coolness. For her second album as BLUSH ALWAYS, Leipzig musician and songwriter Katja Seiffert casts the strengths of her debut album in a new light. Critical self-reflection and empathetic storytelling increasingly replace chronic self-doubt, and her indie rock sound naturally transitions from raw urgency to catchy alternative pop. PAULS JETS are an indie band from Vienna known for their eclectic mix of genres and imaginative songwriting. With their third album ‘Jazzfest’, the Jets are taking a new direction working on and with chance, sound and montage. After an extensive break, a new album will follow soon.
