21+ event w/ valid ID at Soda Bar - San Diego. Social Lovers is a groove-based, collaborative music group from Phoenix, Arizona. Led by head-producer Matt Poisson and vocalist Megan Doherty, they are known for blending street funk, modern electro-disco, and soulful garage house. Their vibe is heavily influenced by classic 80s synth and freestyle. They've built a dedicated following with a sound often described as "street funk with a splash of class." Their music is highly groove-centric, packed with signature bass boppers, and is popular in underground scenes and dance floors on both US coasts. –– lovetempo is the soul-drenched, "lonely-hearts disco" project of Brooklyn-based artist Mattie Safer (formerly of The Rapture and longtime touring member of Poolside). The project blends saudade sentimentality and shimmering disco with sophisticated house, jazz-funk, and global rhythms to create a sound that is heartfelt, euphoric, and made to move you. With a catalog featuring releases on Razor-N-Tape, Too Slow To Disco, Delusions of Grandeur, and Toucan Sounds, lovetempo has garnered consistent support from tastemakers including Gilles Peterson (BBC 6Music), Laurent Garnier, Melvo Baptiste (Glitterbox), and Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy (Balearic Breakfast). The debut full-length album, There Is A Light, was released April 17, 2026, in partnership with Bastard Jazz Recordings.
