Wilfie Williams

Wilfie Williams is an NYC based pianist and composer originally from the U.K. Born into a musical family, he grew up listening to artists ranging from Django Reinhardt to Steely Dan, Wes Montgomery to Mulgrew Miller; He began taking piano lessons from the age of 4. Becoming interested in jazz at a young age allowed him to study with U.K. jazz luminaries Julian Joseph OBE and Trevor Watkis. His love of music led him to attend Berklee College of Music aged 16 on a full scholarship, studying with Terri Lyne Carrington and JoAnne Brackeen, and playing with Tia Fuller, Ralph Peterson and Jacques Schwartz Bart. Currently based in New York City, he frequently travels around the New York/New England area performing in various different groups as well as leading his own bands. He aims to play accessible, grooving music with a focus on melody and improvisation.
