Tkay Maidza is an Australian singer-songwriter and rapper. While growing up in Australia, Maidza went to school at the University of South Australia studying architecture until she decided to quit and become a full-time musician. She participated in Adelaides Northern Sound System artist development program and from there released her first single. After, she released an EP and the single Switch Lanes was voted onto the Triple J Hottest 100 at number 100. Maidza has worked with artists like Killer Mike, Danny L Harle, Kilter, Troye Sivan, MUST DIE!, Martin Solveig, and Basenji. She has also toured with Charli XCX and British band Years & Years. Some of her most popular songs include, Simulation, Brontosaurus, M.O.B., Ghost, Switch Lanes, U-Huh, Carry On, Tennies, and Ghost. Nicki Minaj, Santigold, and Azealia Banks are artists that influence Maidza. Maidza has been nominated for a BET Award, Rolling Stone Award, ARIA Music Award, and a MTV Europe Music Award. .
