The Transference is an indie rock and power pop band from Chicago founded by singer/songwriter/keyboard player Laura Hollingsworth, drummer Alex Karan, and bassist MJ Johnson, with lead guitarist Justin Wheeler and vocalist Andrea Santiago. Their pop rock sound features evocative lyrics layered over complex arrangements that incorporate synths, vibraphone, harmonium, and pedal steel. The band pairs dark themes with playful lines and reflections on interconnectedness. They perform at Bookclub Chicago.
