The Streets is a British music project led by Mike Skinner, known for its innovative blend of UK garage, hip-hop, and electronic music. Emerging in the early 2000s, The Streets gained recognition for its conversational lyrical style and gritty depiction of British urban life. Influenced by artists like Wu-Tang Clan and The Specials, Skinner's work is characterized by its storytelling approach and distinctive use of everyday language, set against minimalist yet impactful beats. The Streets' debut album, "Original Pirate Material," is often credited with redefining the UK music scene by combining elements of garage with a distinctly personal narrative style.
