The Sounds are a Swedish rock band formed in Helsingborg in 1998. They blend punk rock, new wave, and post-punk revival influences into a high-energy sound characterized by sharp guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and vocalist Maja Shining's distinctive vocal delivery. The band gained international recognition in the early 2000s with albums like "Living in America" (2002) and "Crossing Borders" (2004), which showcased their ability to balance aggressive instrumentation with catchy, accessible songwriting. Their style draws from 1980s new wave and post-punk acts while incorporating contemporary punk sensibilities, making them key figures in the 2000s rock revival movement.
