The Skids are a Scottish punk rock band formed in 1977 in Dunfermline. They are known for their energetic sound characterized by driving guitar riffs and anthemic choruses. Influenced by punk pioneers like The Clash and Buzzcocks, The Skids also incorporate elements of post-punk, evident in their use of melodic hooks and layered guitar work.
