The Judds were an American country music duo consisting of mother Naomi Judd and daughter Wynonna Judd, active primarily from 1983 to 1991 and again from 1999 to 2011. Their sound blended traditional country with pop sensibilities, featuring close harmonies and accessible melodies that helped bring country music to mainstream audiences during the 1980s. The duo drew influence from bluegrass and country traditions while incorporating contemporary production techniques. They achieved significant commercial success with multiple Grammy Awards and numerous chart-topping hits, becoming one of the best-selling country acts of their era. Their tight vocal harmonies and Naomi's distinctive alto paired with Wynonna's powerful voice defined their signature style.
