The Jazz Crusaders — artist
The Jazz Crusaders were a prominent American jazz ensemble known for their distinctive blend of hard bop and soul jazz. Formed in the early 1960s, the group's sound was heavily influenced by the blues and gospel music, as well as the burgeoning soul and R&B scenes. Their use of the trombone and tenor saxophone in the front line, played by Wayne Henderson and Wilton Felder respectively, was a defining feature of their sound. Over time, they incorporated more electric and funk elements, evolving into The Crusaders in the 1970s.
