Sloan is a Canadian rock band known for their blend of power pop and alternative rock. Formed in Halifax in 1991, the band draws notable influence from classic rock acts like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, as well as 1990s indie rock. Their sound is characterized by catchy melodies, harmonized vocals, and a democratic approach to songwriting, with all four members contributing as songwriters and vocalists. Sloan's balanced mix of jangly guitars and tight rhythm sections has earned them a dedicated following in Canada and beyond.
