Simians is an 8-piece folk-rock, folktronica, and chamber pop band based in San Diego. The project is led by songwriter and former primatologist Simon Breen, and features the ethereal lead vocals of Lauren Kirby alongside an ensemble of musicians playing viola, upright bass, flute, trumpet, xylosynth, baglamas, banjo, accordion, piano, and synthesizers. Their debut album "Crises of Willpower" was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee and produced by Grammy-nominated drummer and producer Ken Coomer.
