Reel Big Fish is an American ska band from Orange County, California, formed in 1991. They are known for their energetic third-wave ska sound, characterized by upbeat rhythms, horn sections, and humorous, often self-deprecating lyrics. The band gained mainstream attention in the mid-1990s with their album "Why Do They Rock So Hard?" and the single "Sell Out," which became a staple of '90s alternative radio. Their musical style blends ska with elements of punk and pop, drawing influence from earlier ska and reggae traditions while maintaining a distinctly comedic approach to songwriting. Reel Big Fish remains active in the ska scene and continues to tour regularly.
