Protomartyr — artist
Protomartyr has 24 upcoming shows, next at Crescent Ballroom on Mon, Oct 19. Dates, venues and tickets on Ckord.
Protomartyr is a post-punk band from Detroit, known for their gritty sound and introspective lyrics. Their music draws influence from the raw energy of early punk and the atmospheric textures of post-punk pioneers like Joy Division and The Fall. Defined by Joe Casey's distinctive baritone vocals and the band's tight, driving instrumentation, Protomartyr explores themes of existentialism and urban decay. Their work often reflects the stark realities of their hometown, giving their sound a grounded, authentic edge.
