Placebo is an alternative rock band formed in London in 1994, known for their androgynous image and distinctive sound that blends elements of glam rock, punk, and electronic music. The band, fronted by Brian Molko, draws notable influences from artists like David Bowie, Sonic Youth, and The Cure. Their music is characterized by Molko's unique nasal vocals, introspective lyrics, and a mix of heavy guitar riffs with atmospheric synths, creating a sound that is both raw and melodic.
