Mitchel Forman is a pianist and composer who began studying classical piano at age 7 and graduated from the Manhattan School of Music. He has recorded 14 CDs as a leader and played on numerous recordings as a sideman and co-leader, including work with Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz, John McLaughlin, and Wayne Shorter. He has also scored films and written TV commercials, and his jazz compositions have been recorded by Pat Metheny and Gary Burton. Forman performs frequently with his band in the Los Angeles area and has performed at the Baked Potato and Newport Jazz Festival.
