Lauren Mian — artist
Lauren Mian has 1 upcoming show, next at Bowery Palace on Wed, Oct 21. Dates, venues and tickets on Ckord.
Lauren Mian is a rising New York-based alternative folk artist, producer, and songwriter who seamlessly bridges the gap between classic 1970s singer-songwriter traditions and modern indie-pop sensibilities. Drawing heavy inspiration from legends like Joni Mitchell and Fleetwood Mac, as well as contemporary voices like Lizzy McAlpine and Madison Cunningham, Lauren crafts deeply evocative portraits of life, grief, and love. Her signature sound is anchored by her accomplished acoustic guitar playing, lush vocal harmonies, and narratives that are unapologetically honest, buoyant, and occasionally cynical.A highly skilled and conservatory-trained musician, Lauren holds a BFA from The New School's School of Jazz and an MA in Creative Media and Technology from the prestigious Berklee College of Music. She is not just a performer, but a meticulous producer and audio engineer, having self-written, recorded, and produced her acclaimed EP Off Script at the legendary Power Station in NYC. She has also worked alongside Grammy and Emmy award-winning producers, further honing her craft behind the mixing board. In the live circuit, Lauren has quickly become a standout fixture in the New York indie scene. She has graced iconic stages such as The Bitter End, Arlene's Grocery, and Pianos, while playing sold-out support slots at the Mercury Lounge and opening the Chill Tent Stage at the Pleasantville Music Festival. With an award-winning catalog, a rapidly growing fanbase, and an unyielding commitment to her craft, Lauren Mian is a powerful and authentic new voice in modern folk.
