Jay Som is the musical project of Melina Duterte, known for her blend of indie rock, dream pop, and bedroom pop. Her sound is characterized by lush, layered arrangements and introspective lyrics, often drawing comparisons to artists like Yo La Tengo and The Breeders. Influenced by a diverse range of genres, including jazz and shoegaze, Duterte crafts songs that balance melody with a lo-fi aesthetic.
