The Highwaymen were a country music supergroup formed in the mid-1980s, comprising Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. Known for their blend of outlaw country and traditional country sounds, their music was characterized by storytelling lyrics and rich vocal harmonies. Influenced by the individual members' successful solo careers and the outlaw country movement of the 1970s, the group's sound was defined by its authenticity and straightforward approach. Their collaboration brought together distinctive voices and songwriting styles, creating a unique and influential presence in country music.
