Green River was an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1984, often credited as one of the pioneers of the grunge genre. Their sound was characterized by a fusion of punk rock's raw energy and heavy metal's powerful riffs, drawing notable influences from bands like Black Sabbath and The Stooges. Green River's gritty, distorted guitar work and dynamic vocals laid the groundwork for the Seattle music scene that would later gain international prominence.
