Enigma is a musical project founded by Michael Cretu in 1990, known for its distinctive blend of electronic, new age, and world music. The project's sound is characterized by a fusion of ambient soundscapes, Gregorian chants, and ethnic influences, creating a meditative and atmospheric listening experience. Influenced by artists like Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis, Enigma's debut album, "MCMXC a.D.," introduced their signature style, which combines electronic beats with spiritual and cultural elements. This innovative approach has positioned Enigma as a unique presence in the electronic music landscape.
