Delmarie Forbes — artist
Brianna Del-Marie Forbes is a music artist, singer/songwriter, producer, dancer, and poet. Born in New York and raised in Dallas, Georgia, Del-Marie Forbes draws inspiration from her mother playing 90s RNB while cleaning, growing up in a southern church choir , her Jamaican heritage, 70s soul that she discovered at 18, and more. She has placed in multiple monthly poetry slams and considers poetry her “therapy before her therapy”. The Man, a song she released July 2023, was inspired by Motown groups she discovered as a teenager. She finds herself performing at open mics in NYC and Rockland County. She’s had a feature show in Brooklyn at One Love One Mic September 2023, performed at Piano’s, Pink Frog Cafe, and performed at the Delancey with her fellow bandmates called WAVE by WAVE. Del-Marie hopes to continue to network and become well known in the industry: whether it’s through music, songwriting, poetry, or dance.
