Deafheaven is an American band known for their unique blend of black metal, shoegaze, and post-rock, often categorized under the "blackgaze" genre. Formed in 2010, their sound is characterized by expansive, atmospheric compositions that juxtapose intense, distorted guitar work with melodic, ethereal passages. Influences include bands like My Bloody Valentine, Burzum, and Mogwai, which contribute to their dynamic range and textured soundscapes. Deafheaven's ability to merge contrasting elements has earned them a distinct place in contemporary metal and experimental music circles.
