CHVRCHES is a Scottish synth-pop band formed in 2011, consisting of Lauren Mayberry (vocals), Martin Doherty (keyboards), and Iain Cook (keyboards). Their sound blends electronic production with pop sensibilities, characterized by layered synthesizers, precise drum programming, and Mayberry's distinctive vocal delivery. The group draws influence from 1980s synth-pop and electronic music while incorporating contemporary production techniques. Their debut album "The Bones of What You Believe" (2013) established them as prominent figures in the modern synth-pop revival, with subsequent releases exploring darker and more experimental electronic textures.
