BIGBANG is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment in 2006, consisting of members G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri. The group blends hip-hop, R&B, and pop, drawing influences from Western hip-hop and contemporary dance music while incorporating Korean musical elements. Known for their polished production, strong visual concepts, and collaborative songwriting—particularly G-Dragon's production contributions—BIGBANG became one of the most commercially successful K-pop acts globally. Their sound is characterized by heavy bass lines, rap-singing combinations, and trendsetting aesthetics that influenced the broader K-pop industry. The group entered hiatus around 2017 as members pursued military service and solo projects.
