Andy McKee is an American fingerstyle guitarist known for his innovative acoustic guitar technique and compositions. His music blends elements of folk, progressive rock, and new age, characterized by complex fingerpicking patterns, percussive tapping on the guitar body, and melodic arrangements. McKee draws influence from guitarists like Michael Hedges and uses unconventional tunings to create layered, rhythmically intricate soundscapes. He gained wider recognition through online platforms in the 2000s and has released several albums including "Art of Motion" and "Mythmaker." His work is defined by technical precision and an exploratory approach to acoustic guitar as both a melodic and percussive instrument.
