Adam Minkoff — artist

Adam Minkoff's debut album, "Til The End My Dear: Arrangements of Stravinsky" began as a live performance in New York City on the 100th Anniversary of the premiere of Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. Minkoff gathered this ecstatic ensemble to perform the piece in its entirety. With one catch: he’d arranged it for an eight-piece rock/jazz ensemble consisting of electric guitar and electric bass, keyboard, drum kit, and four horns. Minkoff created said arrangements himself by transcribing it from previous recordings or, as we say in the vulgate, by ear. To give some breadth to the record, Minkoff has added a few more pieces to the ensemble's repertoire. All of it Stravinsky, all of it beautiful and challenging, and all of it transcribed by ear. "Suite No. 1 for Orchestra" from 1925, and four vocal pieces written between 1917-1919, "Tilimbom", "Chant dissident", "Les canards, les cygnes, les oies", and "Canard".
